Current research and funding

The main research interests developed by Dr. Glatzel lie in the study of electronic structure using inner-shell spectroscopy. J.P. Glatzel is currently leading the scientifc program at an experimenal station (beamline ID26) of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble/France. This beamline enables to explore the possibilities of hard X-ray absorption and emission spectroscopy (XAS-XES), including resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) or resonant X-ray emission spectroscopy (RXES). J.P. Glatzel is a specialist of RIXS, a technique which arise from long range order in materials and which finds applications in all fields of natural science, and in particular when looking for the identification o multi-electron excitations.
